An e-newsletter is a simple and usually short message that you use (with the help of email marketing software) to stay in touch with everyone you know — obviously prospects and clients, but also colleagues, industry peers, and even family & friends.
They have some proven, specific business benefits.
But why a regularly published newsletter? Can’t you just send out marketing emails whenever you get to it? Yes and no.
Timing is everything when it comes to getting new clients for your business, and you never know who will have a need for your products or services, or when they will need you. Marketing emails can accomplish the same thing as a newsletter, yet I’ve found consistency is very important. With email you’re much more likely to be sporadic in your distribution schedule. Plus, most of the time they’re obviously "marketing messages" and people just don’t tend to pass those around.
